There’s something undeniably moving about the face of a senior dog. The greying muzzle, the quiet wisdom in the eyes evoke both our tenderness and our gratitude for a life of loyalty well-lived. Dog photographer Christian Vieler became an online sensation when he started photographing dogs catching (and sometimes missing!) treats tossed in their direction. Two bestselling books followed that collected the high-energy images in Treat! and Treat Too! Now, in his third collection of dog portraits, Vieler turns his lens to a more distinguished cast of canine characters. In Old Dog, he captures the unforgettable expressions of our oldest companions in various states of being from contemplative to curious to bemused; at rest, at play, and yes, even up to their old treat-catching tricks. This endearing tribute to these gentle souls, who have been by our side the longest, is the perfect gift for anyone who has known the grace and goodness of a lifelong friend.
