Menoir

From podcast and TV show host Jessimae Peluso, a collection of riotously funny essays about the men who have populated her life, from her dysfunctional upbringing by an emotionally unavailable father to the highs and lows of the modern dating scene.

Intoxicatingly hilarious, unequivocally honest and as real as it gets, Jessimae Peluso has slayed audiences around the world with her stand-up comedy, gained mainstream fame for her work on MTV’s hit show “Girl Code” and Netflix’s “Tattoo Redo” and “Surviving Paradise”, and riffs on everything from weed, comedy, and sex, to loss and Alzheimer’s awareness on her hugely popular Sharp Tongue Podcast. And she always makes it feel like you’re shooting the shit with a friend you’ve had for years.

In MENOIR, Jessimae brings her gift for storytelling to the page through a series of riotously funny, heart-wrenchingly honest and thrillingly direct connected essays about men: the good, the bad, and the ugly. With wit and candor, she walks us through her relationships, from her close bond with her lovable but emotionally unavailable tough-guy dad, her love/hate relationship with “Thicc Gym Daddys” and outright love of John Stamos, to highlight reel trysts and red flags and close-calls of the modern dating scene.

The result is a hilarious but raw reckoning that frequently returns to her relationship with her dad as her best friend, first love and greatest heartbreak, and her struggles to overcome losing him to Alzheimer’s in 2018, while finding her own sense of self in the process.
